Valencia Recommendations /001
musings on spanish life; a special tapas bar across town; where to get buñuelos all year long; a glimpse of the street we lived on; the best paella restaurant that only locals know, and more
Inspired by the enthusiastic response to our London Recommendations,
suggested we turn our attention to Valencia – Spain's third-largest city and our home for nearly five years. During our time there, we explored every aspect of Valencian life, from its hidden corners to its vibrant food scene. When we arrived in 2015, Valencia was a relatively undiscovered destination, hosting just 1.6 million overnight stays in the first half of the year. Fast forward to 2023, and the region welcomed a stunning 9.2 million international tourists annually – a transformation that brings both opportunities and challenges. I initially thought compiling our recommendations would be straightforward, but I soon realised we had far too much to share for a single letter. To do the city justice, we'll be presenting this guide as a series. We hope it gives you a sense of the city we grew to love, and we look forward to sharing more in the coming instalments. This first edition contains many beautiful photos and even more beautiful memories.PS This email may be truncated in your inbox. If so, simply click on "View entire message" to see everything.
