Listening, Reading, Thinking, Shopping, Watching / 20 (New Year Edition)
A few of my favourite trends and predictions for 2025, plus P's thoughts on the same; a futuristic Paris apartment on the Left Bank; my New Year's resolutions from the past six years, and much more
After The Nutcracker ballet, The Holiday, hors d'oeuvres, champagne, and all of those other wonderfully festive things, we are slowly emerging from our holiday haze. For the very first letter of 2025, we’re back with our regular series, ‘Listening, Reading, Thinking, Shopping, Watching’, which is essentially a glimpse inside my mind: open tabs, Screenshots folder, search history, Notes app, etc. These round-ups are a carefully curated compilation of things that I’ve seen and have been inspired by over the course of the week or so. This one is a special new year edition that includes a few of my favourite trends and predictions for 2025, plus P's thoughts on the same; my New Year's resolutions from the past six years; my own list of personal Ins and Outs, and so much more.
If you’ve been a long-time follower of TIG, you’ll know that we always have a million projects on the go, so launching this newsletter on top of everything else was quite the stretch. However, the time and effort have been more than worth it, as we’re incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful subscribers—particularly our paid ones, who not only make our work possible, but many of whom have taken the time to leave us the most thoughtful messages with their subscriptions. We really can’t thank you enough, other than by continuing to create at the highest level we possibly can, and sharing our energy, inspiration, and vibes with you.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
Since 2019, I've marked each new year's beginning by writing resolutions, creating a paper trail of hopes and intentions. This year, I'm breaking with tradition. Not because the practice failed me—those lists helped map my growth through uncertain times—but because I've finally learned to trust the compass within. The January ritual of creating long, detailed resolutions once felt necessary, like scaffolding for the self I was becoming. But as with any scaffold, there comes a time to step away and trust in what's been built. Instead, I'm turning toward manifestation—a practice that feels less like making demands of myself and more like opening a door to possibility. Some years ask us to plan, while others ask us to dream.
