Life Update /005
Scenes from Edinburgh–the place we once called home; a new haircut; a delicious pasta recipe; thoughts on fashion, two films I saw recently and other musings, along with beautiful travel diary photos
Time has slipped through my fingers since that last Life Update in early December. The weeks have somehow melted into months while we've been buried in a new project for TIG which has consumed much of my creative energy. As this work has kept me rather quiet on my personal social channels, I thought it fitting to reconnect through a proper update and share what's been happening behind the scenes…
If you follow us on Instagram, you might have seen my new haircut in the Stories last week. It garnered thousands of views in a very short time, along with numerous questions, comments, and compliments (thank you!), reflecting a great deal of interest in this updated style. It’s The Rachel 2.0, and it’s the perfect updated version of the classic 90s cut for 2025. The updated cut features softer, less structured layers that create natural movement, with deliberately textured ends achieved through point cutting and slide cutting techniques. What I love most is how relaxed it feels compared to the original—it has a natural, slightly messy, undone quality that looks effortlessly chic, even when I don’t put in much effort. It usually doesn’t look quite like this, as I’m too busy—or perhaps too lazy—to do blowouts at home. However, I’ve found that using hot rollers or heatless curling rods achieves a similar effect to my usual hairstyle, with slightly shorter side layers that frame my face perfectly.
